When it comes to finding that ideal Valentine’s celebration, Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset has it all – so we’ve come up with a selection of a dozen different dates to show your partner how much you care.
So, if you’ve left it to the last minute, don’t worry because here’s our top-twelve ideas of romantic places to take your partner.

The GLOW Light Festival

If you’re out to impress your partner this Valentine’s Day you’ll be hard pressed to find a better opportunity than this. Spectacular, romantic and special, this wonderful light show of lanterns and illuminated artworks is about as good as it gets for that memorable special evening together. 

Uphill Beacon

Pick up  a bottle of champers or prosecco and head for the viewing tower at Uphill for superb 360 views. Awesome at sunrise, stunning at sunset. If the weather is with you.. this is the ideal spot for an outdoor date or even a proposal!

Clevedon Pier

Stroll arm in arm along Clevedon’s historic pier. Described by poet Sir John Betjeman as the most beautiful pier in England this has all the ingredients for a special date. Wrap up warm, walk to the pagoda at the end and admire as you go all the plaques and inscriptions from people who have walked the pier before you. There’s even one from pop group One Direction who filmed one of their videos on the pier. To make the date ever-lasting and even more special, you could even buy your own personal plaque, maybe something along the lines of “James proposed to Claire here, February 14, 2024?" – insert your own names of course!

Curzon Cinema, Clevedon

This historic cinema is picture-house perfect for date night! It oozes charm and character. It first opened in 1912 to raise money for the families of victims of the Titanic disaster and the bar and waiting area is like going back in time to a cine museum. Make sure you pay the extra pound for balcony seats upstairs in the comfy armchairs or sofas for a real Valentine’s wow factor. The February 14 flick is Amelie, described as the most stylish and unconventional romcom ever made. 

Snuggle up for a Weston sunset

If the weather is on your side here’s a date which is super romantic and as cheap as chips. Grab yourself a portion of our famous fries, wander down to the beach, share a picnic blanket or a bench and watch the sun go down together. 

Wookey Hole caves

Wookey Hole has some of the most stunning caves in Britain. With clever atmospheric lighting and spectacular features it makes for a magical underground experience. There are two ways you can see the caves. There’s the conventional walk around way or there is the more daring Wild Wookey way where you will be sharing a real cavers’ experience.

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm

If you want to set the cute-ometer racing then nothing beats a day at the zoo. 

Tyntesfield House

If your partner loves costume dramas and charming National Trust properties then spend the day at the lovely Tyntesfield House and let your imaginations run as you walk hand in hand back in time together.

Wells

Have a bus day out together and head for romantic Wells. Rewind the clock to those magical first dates you had as a teenager holding hands for the first time and sharing a bus seat together.
Wander through the snowdrops, visit the beautiful Bishop’s Palace surrounded by its moat and feel like you’re walking back in time as you wander up Vicars Close before disappearing into a cosy tea shop, pub or café for a bite to eat.

Glow in the dark crazy golf at the Revo Bar

There’s nothing like a game of crazy golf to get you giggling together and even more so when it is done indoors and in the dark! There’s a bar in the middle of the course and a restaurant next door.

Afternoon tea at the Royal Hotel

A sure-fire winner for all romantics. Luxury and decadence in one glorious helping. Sandwiches first followed by a cake stand of sweet treats.

Treat your partner to a night away in a stunning glamping pod or log cabin at the Wall Eden activity centre. Make your stay even more special by bolting on some of the centre’s activities during the day such as watersports, archery and axe throwing!
