Places for brunch
From bottomless tapas feasts, to slap-up sustenance with a sea view, classic fry-ups to vegan treats, here are some of our favourite places for brunch in Weston.
Sitting on Marine Parade, just across from the pier, Brunello Lounge serves all-day brunch, as well as lunch, a great range of tapas dishes, kids meals and a wide variety of gluten free and vegan options. Big windows lap up the seafront views, and there’s plenty of outdoor seating for al fresco dining and sunset gazing.
The Boathouse, Uphill
Built into the side of the cliff, The Boathouse bar and bistro’s former life as a Chandlers is echoed by the décor - fishing nets, maps on the ceiling and old maritime memorabilia line the walls.
Located at the beginning (or end!) of the Uphill/Brean Down walk, it’s a great spot for fuelling up/replenishing before or after a good stomp along the coast.
Dog Friendly with indoor and outdoor seating, you mustn’t leave without trying their excellent cakes or homemade gelato!
Olea’s ‘bottomless tapas’ brunch on a Saturday or Sunday features three tapas dishes, dessert and (selected) bottomless drinks during your 90-minute sitting. Located on the edge of the Italian Gardens with a view of the fountains, you’ll find Mediterranean-inspired food on the menu during the rest of the week and an extensive gin list.
Revo, Marine Parade
In prime position on the seafront (where Seaquarium used to be), Revo kitchen and Terrace gazes over 360° coastal views of the Bristol Channel. Open from breakfast until bedtime, brunch is served from 9am-3pm, with classics such as Eggs Benedict and Smashed Avocado as well as hearty Steak n’Eggs and Doorstop Sandwiches to chow down on while you drink in that scenery.
Muffins Tea Rooms, Worle High Street
All-day breakfasts, brunches, light lunches, afternoon teas, kids’ meals and snacks, this popular tea room and restaurant on Worle High Street run by local Jen, does more than just muffins. Little ones and dogs are welcome - expect friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere and a mouth-watering dessert menu.
Scotty’s Brunch Bar
Located in the heart of Weston, opposite the Town Hall, Scotty’s offers an unlimited brunch and music/disco style experience every day of the week! Great for birthdays or a get together with friends, for £39.95, you get a choice of one dish (think paninis, fajitas, burgers or wraps) with unlimited cocktails, San Miguel, house wine, Prosecco, and selected spirits with a mixer for 90 minutes, or opt for shorter time and a cheaper price tag with the ‘mini’ brunch offer. The seafood is good too.
Otium, 14 Carlton Street
Although primarily a wood fired pizza kitchen and cocktail bar (open from 4pm) during the week, at weekends Otium opens its doors for a cracking brunch offering. Perfectly poached, photogenic eggs set against a slick, floral (read highly instagrammable) backdrop will set you up for a day on the North Somerset coast perfectly.
This small, independent cafe is a great one for families and those in need of sustenance while out and about in Clarence Park. Serving everything from Full English, veggie and vegan fry ups, to loaded hash browns, pancake stacks, cakes, baps, wraps and snacks, portions are generous and it’s dog-friendly too.
The Cafe at the Stable, Grove Village
Sandwiched between Weston’s historic theatres, smack bang in the middle of the town’s creative quarter, the cafe at The Stable is a farm-to-fork neighbourhood restaurant focusing on sustainability and zero-waste cookery.
Serving brunch all day (Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm) this is a good one for parents of young children looking to meet before/after a walk around Grove Park, as well as those after a cool dining space, friendly service and good food.
