As a visitor to Weston-super-Mare it’s well worth speaking to our friendly team about the best things to see and do in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding areas.  In the summer months you'll find us on foot around town and the Promenade, in and from a cabin at the Water & Adventure Playpark at the north end of the beach towards Knightstone Island.

1. What is there to see and do in Weston-super-Mare?

The following places are free of charge to visit: Weston Seafront, The Weston Street Art Trail, Grove Park, Weston-super-Mare to Brean Walk and Weston Woods.

Paid attractions include; Water Adventure Play Park, The Grand Pier, The Helicopter Museum and Puxton Park. For more ideas see a full list of things to do here.

2. Where are the public toilets in Weston-super-Mare?

Along Weston-super-Mare Seafront there are several public toilets blocks: in the Tropicana, next to the Victorian Cafe and at Marine Lake for a fee of 20p, these toilets are operated by Healthmatic. 

All the seafront toilets offer baby changing facilities and the majority are suitable for disabled users.

For baby changing, the Royal Sands has male and female facilities. The Atlantic has the facilities in the ladies and unisex block, while at the Victorian Café, they are situated in the ladies and disabled toilets. At Marine Lake they are found in the unisex toilets.

Disabled users can use the majority of seafront facilities with the exception of the block at Royal Sands while the building opposite the Grand Atlantic Hotel is too narrow for most wheelchair users.

The town hall and library building has large specialist facilities in its Changing Places changing room, complete with its non-slip floor and a hoist.  This is not open on Sundays or Bank Holidays.  There is also a Changing Places toilet on the far right of the Tropicana Building on the Seafront and this is open 7 days a week.

3. I'm looking for accommodation, can you help?

4. When does the tide come in?

Weston-super-Mare has the second highest tidal range in the world, with the Bay of Fundy in Canada taking first place. Over the years the resort has become affectionately known as “Weston-super-Mud”, as at low tide, the sea recedes to about one mile from the sea wall, leaving a vast expanse of mud towards the tide line.  However, the beach itself is sandy and provides a vast expanse of safe golden sands. Tidal predictions are based on high and low water at Weston-super-Mare beach. All times have been adjusted for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and British Summer Time (BST) differences. 5. Where can I walk my dog on the beach?

Dogs are welcome all year round in the area between the Grand Pier and Knightstone Island and from Royal Sands Car Park to Uphill.

The area between Royal Sands Car Park and the Grand Pier and Marine Lake is a dog free area from 1st May until 30th September, except before 9am and after 7pm.  Dogs are welcome in this area at all times from 1st October until 30th April.

6. Where are the nearest cashpoints on Weston-super-Mare Seafront?

Barclays Bank, Regent Street and various banks on the High Street

Outside Tesco Express or inside the Co-op, both on Whitecross Road (cross over the Beach Lawns opposite the Tropicana, turn right on Beach Road and left into Severn Road. 500m over Walliscote Road, staying on Severn Road)

7. When is the Weston-super-Mare Armed Forces Weekend?

The Weston-super-Mare Armed Forces weekend is usually held on the third weekend of June. 

8. Can I hire a mobility scooter or wheelchair in Weston-super-Mare?

You can hire mobility scooters and wheelchairs daily or weekly from Dalesway Mobility Centre situated on the ground floor of Carlton Street Multi Storey Car Park, around 200 metres from Weston-super-Mare Seafront. 

9. Where can I park in Weston-super-Mare?

If you are staying for a few nights then your accommodation will be able to assist with parking either at the hotel's own car park or by providing information with on-street parking. Weston-super-Mare has a mixture of North Somerset Council run car parks and privately run car parks – both are normally ‘pay and display’. North Somerset Council operates 24 car parks across Weston-super-Mare, providing over 3,500 spaces with the majority of the car parks using the pay and display system. If you’re coming on holiday and want to save money on car parking stay in one of North Somerset Council’s long stay car parks. You have options of a 24 hour, weekend or weekly tickets. Spend your time not having to worry about finding change or having to rush back to your car.
