About Us
To commemorate 100 years since WW1 began, Weston-super-Mare shops and businesses will be dressing their windows with poppies to turn Weston High Street Red for Remembrance. Poppies have also appeared on lampposts along the High Street and in Grove Village. The initiative which has been led by The Royal British Legion and supported by Weston’s Business Improvement District will make a special impact at this Sunday’s Remembrance Parade.
Adam Brown, Royal British Legion Community Fundraiser for Somerset said “The Royal British Legion are very happy with the support the businesses along the High Street, the Town Centre Partnership and Crossville Motor Services have given the Poppy Appeal in this centenary year.”
Remembrance Sunday in Weston-super-Mare starts at 10.25am with a parade of veterans, cadet forces and youth organisations from the High Street to Grove Park for the Service of Remembrance.
