About Us
Weston’s “Songs from the Shows” is believed to be the UK’s longest surviving summer season. This year it is being presented at a different venue. After nineteen years of being staged at the resort’s Winter Gardens the show’s producers, 1st Call Entertainment, is teaming up with Weston Town Council to present their popular “Songs from the Shows” at the Blakehay Theatre. This will mark a double celebration. “Songs from the Shows” is celebrating its 20th anniversary along with the Town Council’s 10th anniversary of running and operating the Blakehay Theatre.
Producer Julian Franks of 1st Call Entertainment commented that :-
“ We have enjoyed a very long, happy and successful run at the Winter Gardens. However, we are excited by the opportunity to be able to work with the town council and to present our show at The Blakehay Theatre.“
The show features songs from both hit film and stage musicals. This year’s production will see it’s talented team of vocalists include some of the most popular songs from the previous 19 years, together with an exciting selection of new numbers.
This will include songs from shows as varied as, Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, High Society, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, Evita and Blood Brothers. Also, to mark the 100th Anniversary since his birth, the show will also include a very special tribute to the musicals of the great Frank Sinatra.
