9th NovemberWeston High Street and Grove Park
To commemorate 100 years since WW1 began, Weston-super-Mare shops and businesses will be dressing their windows with poppies to turn Weston High Street Red for Remembrance. Poppies have also appeared on lampposts along the High Street and in Grove Village.
The initiative which has been led by The Royal British Legion and supported by Weston’s Business Improvement District will make a special impact at this Sunday’s Remembrance Parade.
The Remembrance Day Ceremony, organised by the RBL and supported by Weston Town Council, takes place this Sunday morning, 9th November, in Grove Park. please arrive by 10.45 am with the service starting at 10.50 am and the two minute silence at 11am. All are welcome. This is a chance to show our respect for those who have given their lives in the service of this country. At the moment the weather forecast for Sunday is good but in any event please bring suitable clothing in case of rain.
