About Us
LT Gallery is offering an on-going series of sessions once a month which will guide you to enhance your understanding, appreciation and interpretation of art. We will look at different contexts for writing about art and the varying styles and approaches. You will be able to develop your own approach within an encouraging and informative environment. As well as sessions held at LT Gallery, there will be opportunities to visit and write about other current exhibitions as a group.
Introduction to Writing About Art £15
Thursday 14 February 7:30 - 9:30 pm
In this first introductory session held at LT Gallery, a reproduction of a well-known painting will provide the source for discussion and your own notes, taking into consideration technical, historical, aesthetic, social and personal aspects of the work. We will then look at examples of writing available in print and online about the painting.
All welcome irrespective of experience and background. Please bring your preferred materials or devices for note-taking, although we will have some available if required.
