About Us
"This exhibition brings together a collection of my dreams transferred onto canvas by brush and paint. I write in my diary what I remember of my dreams every morning and sketch them so that I will remember them.Visitors to the gallery will be able to see how colourful, fascinating and different dreams are. You can be in world full of fantasy, magic creatures and incredible places; and you probably are during every night's sleeps, but the magic trick is to remember those dreams in the morning and share what you saw with the others. Some of the paintings are from my trips into deep meditation and Out Of Body Experience.
I didn't finish art school. I've never been to art classes. Everything I do and know is just my experience and long hours of pain and creation."
-Aleksander Nocny
Aleksander was born in the Ukraine in 1985. When he was six his family moved to Poland where he finished his education and started working as a graphic designer / illustrator. He drew pictures for local news portals and newspapers; digital drawings with caricatures of the political situation in his region and his country.
When he was a child he played with Plasteline and clay and made lots of wooden sculptures, models, pyrography and miniatures. It was through model-making that he taught himself to paint - he needed to know how to make shadows and highlights on them; he practiced on paper first and realised that he enjoyed painting on a flat surface as well as on his models. So, he started painting murals, canvases and moved on to digital paintings.
He returned to sculpture five years ago, trying to improve his skills in every medium possible - paper, wood, foam, clay etc. During a year in Norway, he was inspired to work with wood and also by the ubiquitous trolls which he absolutely loves!
Over the past three years since moving to the UK, he has been building his art portfolio: painting murals, doing digital art for fun, sculpting toys, figures, building mixed media artworks and exhibiting them in galleries.

Also derived from his dreams, Aleks has previously created amazing artworks from selected images he put together using computer software. He displayed them as prints in an exhibition in Suwałki, Poland five years ago. He currently prefers to paint his dreams and we hope you can visit LT Gallery at 1 Orchard Street to see his paintings along with some of his beautifully crafted sculptures also in his exhibition. Come along for a drink and a chat with Aleks on Friday 8th September 4-8pm and see him working live in the gallery on Saturday 16th September 10am - 4pm.
You may have seen Aleks' paintings, murals, signs, photographs and sculptures in various venues, publications and events in Weston including the Sand Sculpture festival, a local school, the Hazy Days Music and Arts Festival and most recently the Birnbeck Spray Jam. He works as a tattoo artist but has also been painting on canvas for an exhibition of acrylic works at LT Gallery entitled 'Imaginarium of the Open Mind' which runs from Thursday 7th to Tuesday 26th September.
