About Us
The UK’S largest undercover winter ice rink is at the Tropicana in Weston-super-Mare from November 1, 2024 until January 5, 2025.
The rink, which can accomodate 400 skaters at a time features real ice and each skating session is 45 minutes long.
The rink will be open every day with the exception of 8th November for the Weston Carnival and on Christmas Day. Opening times vary, please check the booking page.. Opening times vary, so check the booking page.
Skaters are advised to arrive 20 minutes before their session to ensure your skates are fitted correctly. Skate hire is included in the ticket price.
There is no minimum age but children under eight must have an adult ticket holder skating with them on the ice. And children under 12 must have a responsible adult watching on from the spectating area. There is no entrance fee to spectate. There is a viewing platform at the end of the ice rink for spectators.
There are some skating aids for hire at £5 each. These can be purchased on the day from the Box Office (on a first-come first-served basis). They are for children 1.4m tall and under.
Even though the rink is undercover, it can get very cold so warm clothing, gloves and thick socks are recommended.
The ice rink is wheelchair accessible. Manual wheelchairs are permitted on the ice, but not electric wheelchairs. If you have any questions, email info@icescape-tropicana.co.uk

2 for 1 Wednesdays
On selected Wednesday sessions you pay for one skating ticket and get another free. Contact info@icescape-tropicana.co.uk
School Sessions
A limited number of 45 minute sessions for schools available between 24th Nov - 15th Dec. A reduced ticket price and teachers skate for free! If you are teacher or a school who would like more information, please contact info@icescape-tropicana.co.uk
It may also be possible to book the rink for a private party.
Disco Nights
Our popular disco sessions will take place on selected Friday evenings and are indicated on the ticketing site. This is an adult ticket only session, with dance music to skate along to and no skate aids on the ice. If you think you have the energy, you can book a disco session back to back at a reduced cost. Santa Skates New for 2024! Come and see Father Christmas at the ice rink. These sessions are indicated on the ticketing site. All children skate tickets will include a Christmas gift, plus you will have a chance to meet and have a photo with Father Christmas. Any queries please contact tropicana@icescape.co.uk
How can I book tickets?
You can book at tropicana.icetickets.co.uk or at the Box Office next to the ice rink when the event is running. We strongly recommend booking online to avoid disappointment, especially during busy periods like the weekends and school holidays. If you book at least a day in advance online you can save on ticket prices and we offer a free parking voucher for along the seafront. Please note, is it card & contactless payments only at the Box Office. Online tickets, bought at least 24 hours in advance, includes free parking.
Can we buy tickets on the day?
We advise you to book online in advance to take advantage of our online saver offer, reduce queues and to avoid disappointment as tickets do sell out during busy times. Our online booking system allows you to purchase a ticket up until that selected session is due to start. Also, bookings can be taken on site at our Box Office on the day or in advance, but please note, is it card & contactless payments only at the Box Office.
Parking
With every online booking purchased a day or more in advance, you will receive a parking voucher (which must be printed and displayed on your dashboard) offering FREE parking along the seafront.
Spectating
There is a viewing platform for spectators and admission to watch is free.
