About Us

Weston's Italian and Winter Gardens will be brought to life on Saturday 15th June when they host the first annual Festival of Learning.

This free Weston College and University Centre Weston (UCW) event will bring learning to life by laying on a range of fun activities for all ages. The festival will be interactive and family oriented, showcasing every aspect of learning – so come along, get inspired, and learn something new.

There will be something for everyone, including:

• Slime making
• Science experiments
• Surveying using digital and laser technologies
• Building a garden wall
• Learning British Sign Language
• Taking part in a drawing techniques workshop
• Coding and 3-D printing
• Designing a TV advert story board for a product or mobile game app
• A music and theatre workshop
• A yoga taster session
• CV writing tips and advice.

The media partner for the day, Breeze Radio, will also be there, playing music and broadcasting live for everyone to enjoy.

The College's new adult part-time prospectus will also be launched at the festival. So, if you are interested in becoming an apprentice, studying part-time (in a class or online), being supported back into work, changing or advancing your career, or starting a new hobby, College staff will be on hand to tell you what's on offer and to help you enrol.

The UCW open day also forms part of the festival. This gives you the opportunity to speak to higher education lecturers and students, have a look around the new university centre and find out about the 40 degree courses offered at UCW.

The festival takes place from 11am-3pm, so bring the family down and find out more.
