About Us
The Chase the Sun cycle ride on Saturday, 21st June 2025 will see hundreds of cyclists leave the East Coast at sunrise and aim to finish at Weston-super-Mare's Grand Pier in time for sunset.
The 200-mile coast-to-coast ride is an epic cross-country cycle ride chasing the sun from sunrise to sunset.
Starting in the Thames estuary at The Leas in Minister on Sea, the 200+ mile route bi-sects south London, bridging the Thames onto Wiggin’s Olympic time trial route, before seeking green country lanes, quaint villages, the lush Vale of Pewsey, climbing the Mendip hills, descending breathtaking Cheddar gorge, finally arriving on the seafront at Weston-Super-Mare.
It’s a ride, not a race.
It’s a physical, mental and navigational challenge.
Chase the Sun is an annual ride from East to West coasts on the longest Saturday of the year. It’s a ride of over 200 miles. It is tough but achievable for an average committed cyclist—if they have put in the training! The objective is to get to the coastal finish before the sun sets, but no-one is there to time you and you are not racing against one another, just enjoy the ride and chase that sun! Also enjoy the warm welcome you will receive at the finish line in Weston-super-Mare and book your accommodation early. Bring friends and family to enjoy some time in sunny Somerset, enjoy the glorious beach and all that Weston has to offer.
