BIG BEACH CLEAN + Art Materials Salvage
What: Help keep Weston's beach clean by taking part in a big community litter pick, and salvage some of the rubbish to be used as art materials for a hands-on arts workshop the next day!
*with free chips afterwards for helpers - kindly provided by The Grand Pier
*prizes for the weirdest, brightest and most camouflaged items of rubbish
When: Friday 21st July, 6-7.30pm
Where: Meet at the Grand Pier
Details:
Bin bags, gloves and litter pickers will be provided. Bring your own, if you have them.
Dress for the
weather and wear sturdy shoes
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
FREE PARKING along the promenade beach road from 6pm
Things to salvage:
Single-use plastics such as drink lids, ice cream spoons
Hard, colourful plastics and beach paraphernalia such as buckets, spades, beach toys, flip flops, pinwheels
Flexible thin plastics such as carrier bags, food wrappers
String and netting
**Only collect things that aren't super dirty
**Work in pairs / groups, so that you can have a bag for waste, and a bag for salvageable items
