Meet the troops in their living history encampments! This will be the first event to take place in and around the recently restored WWII era control tower and pilot's block at Weston-Super-Mare airfield.
UPDATE: The Helicopter Museum is delighted to announce that the last surviving Dambuster, George 'Johnny' Johnson, will be attending World at War on the second day of the show (Sunday 9th). He will be joined by two Normandy veterans in support of military charity SSAFA and will be chatting to visitors and signing memorabilia.
Visit the giant WWII Encampment and meet the Allied, German and Russian troops. Explore a wartime hospital tent, German military outpost, the massive home guard display and over 30 historic vehicles on display. Other highlights will include a paintball range, a visit from the Gazelle Squadron on Saturday and pleasure flights on Sunday.
Actor Richard Gibson will be attending the first day of the event chatting to visitors, posing for photos and signing autographs. Richard of course played the iconic Herr Flick in 'Allo 'Allo.
After 3 years of hard the work the now restored WW2 era control tower and pilots block will be opened to the public for the first time, housing the Weston Aviation Exhibition.
