About Us
Live Drone Racing returns to Weston-super-Mare later this month when the Annual Flight Simulator Convention and Drone Racing Show takes place at The Helicopter Museum on July 22nd & 23rd.
Featuring live outdoor racing around an actual racing circuit, the event will also include several displays of fabulous aerial manoeuvres and commentary by top UK pilots.
The live racing takes place alongside the annual Flight Simulation Convention at the museum, which now in its 9th year brings enthusiasts of all ages together to “fly” a range of aircraft including airliners, fighter jets and a variety of helicopters without having to leave the ground, whilst also being able to enjoy display simulations and real time air traffic control scenarios.
“This year we have a wide selection of simulators for our visitors to try their hand at including a Jet Ranger helicopter, a WWII Bomber, a Mustang fighter plane and even a Formula One racing car!” said the Helicopter Museum's Peter Michallat.
Usual museum admission applies to attend the event and there are no extra charges to view the racing or fly the various simulators.
The Helicopter Museum is a registered charity and home to the world’s largest collection of helicopter including two aircraft of the Queen’s Royal Flight.
