About Us
A rousing and uplifting programme of joyful choral music for Advent and Christmas, with settings ranging from late medieval polyphony through the many centuries to the present day. A particular feature will focus upon lesser known works by the Bristol-born composer Robert Lucas Pearsall (b.1795), who left England in 1825 and later settled in Switzerland. His In dulci jubilo setting, inspired by carols from German lands, is one of the best-loved carols in the English repertoire. The programme will include carols for the audience.
Programme to include:
Robert Pearsall - In dulci jubilo, Salve Regina in E
Johann Pachelbel – Magnificat in D
Dieterich Buxtehude – In dulci jubilo
John Tavener – God is with us
Michael Praetorius – In dulci jubilo
