About Us
The latest exhibition from Weston-super-Mare Museum celebrates the lives of North Somerset people at work and play, from the 1860s to the 1960s.‘Face to Face: North Somerset People in Photographs’, which opens on Saturday 25 January, draws on the rich legacy of photographs taken in and near Weston-super-Mare, by both professional and amateur photographers.
It recalls a lost world and reveals some of the stories behind the faces, covering topics such as family, animals, work, holidays, sport, and entertainment.
The photographs come from the museum collections of North Somerset Council, and many are being shown here for the first time.
Malcolm Nicholson, Town Clerk, said: “This is a fascinating exhibition about our forebears in Weston and north Somerset and I hope lots of people will come to view it.”
Entry to the exhibition, which runs until Sunday 27 April, is free. The museum is open 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
