About Us
Costanzi Consort directed by Peter Leech explore their first Russian Christmas with a programme of deeply atmospheric choral works, moving through three centuries of tradition from the era of Peter the Great to the Russian Revolution of 1917. Much of the Russian seventeenth and eighteenth-century choral repertory is little known in the West, so this will be a rare chance for North Somerset concert-goers to be transported to the courtly opulence of the Imperial Chapel of the Tsars.Dimitry Bortynansky: Cherubic Hymns, Slava vo vishnikh (Gloria)
Artem Vedel: Dostoyno yest, Khvalitye imya
Maxim Berezovsky: Otche nash (Our Father)
Pavel Chesnokov: Cherubic Hymn
Grigory Lvovsky: Ninye sili (Now the powers of heaven)
Sergei Rachmaninov: Bogoroditsye Dyevo
Capacity limited to 100 to allow for a degree of social distancing
