About Us
Perfectly placed with great views
A great location is enjoyed by this independent, family owned and operated hotel right in the centre of things. It’s a very short walk from the sea, so The Royal Grosvenor Hotel is well located for the huge beach and Promenade for which Weston-super-Mare is renowned.
There’s a small car park at the front of the hotel that’s free to residents, you just type your car registration into a screen at reception. It’s possible to pre-book a parking space at a cost, this might be a good plan as it’s tight and not huge.
The hotel has 55 en suite bedrooms, many with sea views and balconies. All bedrooms are equipped with full central heating, flat screen television, WiFi, telephone and tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer and en suite bathroom with a shower or bathtub.
Buffet breakfast is served in the large dining room and there is occasionally a choice of evening dinner prepared by their long established chef, Vince who is happy to cater for special diets.
What can you do nearby?
The Royal Grosvenor is within striking distance of other attractive towns such as Wells, Cheddar, Bath and Glastonbury as well as the Mendip Hills, The Quantocks and Exmoor. But you will find plenty of things to do in Weston-super-Mare, so you might want to leave the car in the car park.
Conveniently situated within a 5 minutes walk to The Blakehay Theatre and the Town Centre with its high street and independent shops, it provides an ideal base to visit the up and coming, vibrant centre of Weston-super-Mare. There’s an abundance of cafes and restaurants, bars with evening entertainment, shops and level walking within minutes from the hotel.
You can explore the nearby Grove Park with its beautiful flower beds, bandstand and fish pond. Or wander up the Boulevard, just around the corner, to discover little gems like The Blitz Tearoom with its 1940s style décor and ambiance. Just a few minutes by foot is Weston Museum, tucked away on Burlington Street, where you can spend an hour or two learning about Weston and North Somerset history.
The Royal Grosvenor public areas such as reception, the bar and dining areas were fully refurbished in 2018 and although the hotel is not star rated, you would be forgiven for thinking it’s a good 3 star from the public rooms. The bedrooms are pleasantly furnished and decorated but the hotel does not pretend to be a 3 star. This is reflected in their pricing, which will suit all budgets.
The convivial bar overlooks lawns and the Grand Pier and has a terrace where you can sit outside to enjoy the view whilst sipping your favourite drink. There’s frequent evening entertainment in the bar area ranging from live music to bingo.
