About Us

Basecamp is a family run campsite in heart of the beautiful Mendip Hills yet only 15 minutes from the M5 and Weston-super-Mare and 25 minutes from Bristol.

Surrounded by ancient woodland, our spacious campsite is perfect for families, small groups and adventurers. We are proud of Basecamp's friendly, festival-like atmosphere that has families coming back year after year.

Our site is off-grid and nearly wild, this means no electric hook up. We are hidden away, without a road in sight but you will still have access to hot showers, clean flushing toilets, a well stocked camp shop and a cosy, licensed country lodge serving great value food and drink.

Not only that but the campsite is based within the 250 acres of a multi-activity centre, including private rock sport quarry, target sport ranges, frisbee golf course and floodlit snowsport and toboggan slope.

The spacious campsite is available for tents or campervans under 2.7m high. You have the freedom to camp wherever you like within the large camping fields.

Friendly dogs are more than welcome to accompany campers for a small additional fee.

Bunk rooms within Mendip Lodge can be rented by the room and sleep from six to nine people. Recently refurbished, they are each equipped with either double or triple sleeper bunks with proper mattresses and en-suite shower rooms and WC. Each room has power sockets and USB charging points. Perfect for non-campers for a well-deserved rest after a day of jam-packed adventuring.

If you would rather stay in the fields of Mendip Basecamp, we also have bunkhouse tents available. Pre-erected tents complete with bunk beds, fairy lights and table and chairs. All the joys of camping without the hassle.
