DJ and dance facilitator Sophie Bolton is coming to Weston for the very first time to offer her ultra-danceable grooves on Weston-super-Mare beach. It's a summer celebration of holiday fun and freedom.
Whether you just like to move in the freedom of the outdoors, or whether you're a parent looking for an activity to do with your kids during the holidays, all are very welcome. This event is even suitable for young children, as you will be dancing to music played through headsets, each with adjustable volume control, so little ears stay safe.
We will begin the session with some time to check in and a bit of yoga-type movement with Sophie and Morven, then we will let the tunes fly free. The dance session is led by Sophie though her music and her words, which guide you to dance freely with the sand and sky. She artfully weaves together tracks to create a magical palette of soulfulness, playful funkiness and deep emotion.
Sophie is known to lead dances from a place of vulnerability and compassion and she believes there is no better way to feel alive than to dance freely with the elements.

In 2014 Sophie trained in the States with Dancing Freedom. By 2017, Sophie was a full-time DJ and Dancing Freedom and Ecstatic Dance Facilitator. She has now developed her own brand of Ecstatic Dance - Cosmic Dance - and also collaborates with Ecstatic Dance communities around the UK and Europe.
Sophie believes the transformative nature of music and dance helps us to feel more embodied, reminds us that we belong to a community and inspires us to live truly alive in each moment.
