About Us
The 2023 coronation of King Charles III has prompted many vocal ensembles across the nation to celebrate the rich tradition of coronation music composed for the choirs of the Chapel Royal and Westminster Abbey over the last millennium. On Saturday 24 June Costanzi Consort will explore some of this repertory with a programme of anthems and motets (accompanied by a professional consort of viols) from the reign of Edward VI (1547-53) through to the 1761 coronation of George III. Join us as we embrace the wonderful acoustics of All Saints' Weston-super-Mare in the performance of sublime works by Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, Henry Purcell, William Boyce, and many others; a panoply of popular and lesser-known choral favourites to celebrate some of the more auspicious occasions in the history of music and monarchy.
Tickets: adults £15, u18s/students £7
