About Us

Meet Kate Moore, author of The Radium Girls, at Yatton Library and Children's Centre. Tickets are free, but booking is essential.

The Radium Girls tells the incredible true story of the American women who were poisoned by the radium paint they worked with and courageously fought for justice after their employers denied all responsibility. Part medical mystery, part courtroom drama and part horror story, it is above all the empowering true tale of a group of friends standing up for their rights against all odds. Selected for Emma Watson's feminist book group Our Shared Shelf, The Radium Girls is a New York Times bestseller and the winner of the GoodReads Choice Award for Best History/Biography 2017. It was named a 2018 Book of the Year by the UK's Reading Agency and voted US librarians' favourite non-fiction book of 2017.

Kate Moore is the award-winning, New York Times bestselling author of The Radium Girls. A British writer based in London, she has published numerous Sunday Times bestsellers, writing across various genres including history, biography, true crime, gift and humour.
