About Us
Tucked away on the Upper Bristol Road opposite the Windsor Castle public house is this treasure of a restaurant offers a fine dining experience with presentation that will set your taste buds into overdrive! Michelin recommended for over 20 years, the family run restaurant is the perfect setting for special occasions and its Sunday lunches are so popular that advance bookings are essential.
The ever changing menu includes seafood dishes such as a Lobster and Prawn Bisque and decadent desserts such as home-made Mango and Passion Fruit Ice Cream served in a brandy snap basket and garnished with fresh fruit. Or the ever popular and always on the menu, a Trio of Desserts for when you can't make up your mind what to choose from the delicious selections on offer! This might include a Dark Chocolate Brownie, a Brandy Snap filled with Peanut Butter and Caramel Ice Cream and an Orange & Grand Marnier Brulee. There's always a specials board too, with only the very freshest ingredients available on the market, such as fresh mussels from the River Fowey in Cornwall as and when Chef can obtain them.
Your after-meal coffee will arrive with a selection of home-made petit fours. Sean, the chef, enjoys escaping from his kitchen to chat with diners, yet the service is always discreet and overseen by Lyn. And nothing stands still, there is always something new to try with a depth of flavour that will make you want to return for the fine but relaxed dining experience.
Since the Coronavirus pandemic, Sean and Lyn have worked hard to ensure that their customers can be seated safely and they place sanitisers on the tables should you wish to use them. The small restaurant has adapted to be even smaller, taking fewer customers so that people can sit at safe distances. This means that all dining must be pre-booked, at which time you can discuss any dietary requirements too.
