About Us
Sand Bay, Sand Point and Middle Hope are among the most beautiful parts of North Somerset offering unspoilt beaches, idyllic views, great walking and some lovely rocky coves to drop down into for a picnic.
The area is often described as Weston-super-Mare's hidden gem and it's easy to see why.
The sandy beach, which is flanked by Weston Woods on one side and Sand Point on the other is an all-year-round dog walkers beach and, if you time it right, you may even see horses being exercised on the shoreline.
Head up onto Sand Point and you enter a different world of hills, rolling fields, rocky beaches and stunning views which will have you repeatedly reaching for your camera. You can walk the whole headland and, if you like also take in Woodspring Priory, or head for Middle Hope for a picnic with a view. The views are spectacular in all directions from the headland.
Sand Bay Beach itself is a long expanse of sand backed by sand dunes. Behind the sand dunes there are some places to eat and drink.
The number one open-topped Coaster bus stops in the middle of the beach where there is also a pay and display car park. There's also pay and display parking at either end of the beach with the one at the Sand Point end being free to National Trust members.
The beach is dog-friendly all year round.
Horse Riders are permitted on Sand Bay. However, horses must ride along the tide line, avoiding pedestrians and the sand dunes at all times. There is good parking for horseboxes at the southern end of the bay, adjacent to the main car park.
